Challenger Miracle Field of Rochester provides people with developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities a barrier-free, safe, accessible place to experience the health benefits and joy of play through baseball, other team sports, and adaptive recreational equipment. The Challenger Miracle Field will welcome challenged athletes from the Greater Rochester Area, Special Olympians, wheelchair athletes, visually impaired athletes, and Wounded Warriors and veterans. The field will include a versatile, completely flat, cushioned, synthetic surface. Designed primarily as a baseball field, it will also have a removable outfield fence to accommodate larger field sports such as soccer and flag football. It will provide a safe surface for wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, and assistive devices. Challenger Miracle Field is also building an ADA-approved play space adjacent to the field; the only one of its kind in the county. It will have ramps and transfer points throughout the playground for children of all abilities to engage.
