DESCRIPTION:Challenger Miracle Field of Rochester provides people with deve
 lopmental\, physical\, or intellectual disabilities a barrier-free\, safe\
 , accessible place to experience the health benefits and joy of play throu
 gh baseball\, other team sports\, and adaptive recreational equipment. The
  Challenger Miracle Field will welcome challenged athletes from the Greate
 r Rochester Area\, Special Olympians\, wheelchair athletes\, visually impa
 ired athletes\, and Wounded Warriors and veterans. The field will include 
 a versatile\, completely flat\, cushioned\, synthetic surface. Designed pr
 imarily as a baseball field\, it will also have a removable outfield fence
  to accommodate larger field sports such as soccer and flag football. It w
 ill provide a safe surface for wheelchairs\, crutches\, walkers\, and assi
 stive devices. Challenger Miracle Field is also building an ADA-approved p
 lay space adjacent to the field\; the only one of its kind in the county. 
 It will have ramps and transfer points throughout the playground for child
 ren of all abilities to engage.
